09.03.2010 WORKSHOP HELD ON “REPORTING ON MULTICULTURAL VALUES” A workshop dubbed “Reporting on Multicultural Values” for radio journalists from Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia was held in Banja Luka on March 4-6. The education seminar placed special emphasis on radio production in coverage of national minority issues and the editorial dilemma of whether to produce programs for minorities or about minorities. In the end, a concept was defined for a magazine radio program for and about national minorities, which was assessed as applicable for minority programs on stations which need and want to produce such programs.
The seminar lecturers were Radenko Udovicic, Program Director of Sarajevo-based Media Plan Institute; Stojan Obradovic, Director of Split-based STINA Institute; Radmila Karanovic and Ljilja Djuric, National Minority Program Editors at Radio RS and BH Radio 1; and Zoran Udovicic, media expert and founder of Media Plan Institute.
Eighteen journalists participated in the seminar, coming from BH Radio 1, RTRS, Radio Prnjavor, Radio Velika Kladusa, RTV Vogosca, Radio Brcko, Radio Visegrad, Radio Jajce, Radio Livno, Radio Vest (Tuzla), Radio Vojvodina and Radio Nis.
The seminar was supported by Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Office in Banja Luka and Central European Initiative.
