SEEMO 2008 AWARD

Places: Sarajevo – Novi Sad
Time: November – December 2007.

Three-week module for journalists from BiH, Serbia and Croatia to be held in Sarajevo and Novi Sad through an education and production process. Supported by Central European Initiatives (CEI), Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, Media program SEE, and French Embassy from Belgrade.

The module will be organized for young journalists, mostly journalists with radio experience, from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia. It will last three weeks and consist of two seminars a week long each – one will be hosted by Sarajevo, BiH, and the other will be organized in Novi Sad, Serbia. During the last week of the seminar the participants, based on their seminar experience, will produce a one-hour radio show on the theme of inter-religious dialogue.

1st seminar:  «The role of media in interreligious dialogue: Bosnian experience»
19th – 23rd November 2007, Sarajevo
Partner: Inter-religious institute, Sarajevo
The Sarajevo seminar will be implemented with the expert and organizational assistance of Inter-Religious Institute of BiH, whose lecturers will acquaint participants with the religious landscape in BiH, multi-religious tradition of BiH society, specifics and organization of the largest religious communities and churches in BiH, specific terminology, the term secularism, as well as desirable relations between the state and church.

2nd seminar:  «The role of media in interreligious dialogue: Bosnian experience»
26th November – 1st December 2007, Sarajevo
Partner: Novi Sad School of Journalism, Novi Sad
The Novi Sad seminar will acquaint participants with the values and principles of multi-cultural and multi-religious society such as Vojvodina. Our partners, organizers of the seminar in Novi Sad from Novi Sad Journalism School, will share with experience and relevant know-how with young journalists.

3rd part: radio production
3rd -7th December 2007, Sarajevo
The result of the module will be a one-hour radio show, which will be produced during the last week.
