Media Plan is the first private, independent organization on media development in Bosnia-Herzegovina, founded in 1995 in Sarajevo. Today, Media Plan is an institution with a lot of experience in media research, education of professionals, online information and different communication projects. Media Plan implements projects in all countries of South East Europe. Our network of partners and contributors is constantly expanding, crossing the borders of language, politics and culture in the quest for excellence in knowledge and practice. PRESENTATION OF RESULTS OF SURVEY ON SEXUAL ABUSE OF CHILDREN (21.11.2011)
A conference for the press and the expert public was held in Sarajevo presenting the National Report on Sexual Abuse of Children and Recommendations for Better Practice. These documents are the result of a survey carried out as part of the regional project Pandora’s Box, which is aimed at strengthening social capacities for battling sexual abuse of children in Hungary, Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina through the implementation of a number of research, production and education activities. “PANDORA’S BOX”, REGIONAL NETWORK FOR BATTLING SEXUAL VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN (29.03.2011)
A regional network for battling sexual violence against children under the name “Pandora’s Box” was created in a three-day conference of organizations from Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Hungary and Serbia held in Budapest. The network core comprises organizations in four countries: Novi Sad Journalism School from Novi Sad, Media Initiatives from Sarajevo, Stina Institute from Split and Association of Independent Journalists from Budapest. Partner organizations from Bosnia-Herzegovina are: Media Plan Institute Sarajevo, Center for Mental Health Zenica and Association for Cooperation between Parents and Schools Sarajevo. PRACTICAL EDUCATION OF JOURNALISM STUDENTS: REPORTING ON CHILDREN’S RIGHTS (07.02.2011)
In the past several years, UNICEF has been working in collaboration with the Media Initiatives association from Sarajevo on education of media and journalists aimed at raising the level of quality of information on issues related to social protection of children. This time, as part of the project “Strengthening the System of Social Protection and Inclusion of Children in BiH”, practical education was held for journalism students under the name “Reporting on Children’s Rights”. Education was attended by 17 students from Faculties of Political Science of Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Mostar, Tuzla and Pale and was held at the Faculty of Political Science of Sarajevo from 31 January to 5 February.
